PRE-SCHOOL
Merlion Preschool aims to stimulate the development of the child as a whole person, by maintaining a healthy balance of activities across all four developmental areas, namely physical, intellectual, emotional and social. Our mission is to awaken the child’s curiosity and the natural eagerness to learn and discover, producing adults who are confident, self-directed, active contributors, and concerned citizens who are rooted to Indonesia but are globally competent and competitive.

We strive to preserve the gifts of childhood while preparing children to meet life with joy, enthusiasm and confidence. We encourage children to satisfy their natural curiosity and promote immersion into lifelong learning and discovery.
With genuine love and commitment, our teachers and staff model the behaviour we wish to foster in the children – kindness, compassion, hard-work, confidence and respect.

It covers six learning areas, which are taught in both English and Mandarin. These are: Aesthetics and Creative Expression, Discovery of the World, Language and Literacy, Motor Skills Development, Numeracy, and Social and Emotional Development. Merlion School also includes Information and Communications Technology as an additional learning area.
The curriculum aims to develop vocabulary through songs and rhymes with a focus on promoting the social and emotional well-being of the children.
We strongly believe that Integrated Learning experiences help children make meaningful connections across learning areas and enable them to understand how knowledge and skills are linked.
Lessons are integrated to facilitate language acquisition, Math perspectives, simple scientific exploration, art and craft work, music and movement activities, and motor skills development.
